If you missed our first post, go back and give it a read and watch the first video. In this episode, Eric and Tracey begin working on their new screen porch. Before they can install the Mini Track system, they must demo their existing screen porch. Once the old screen and boards are removed, they give the porch a facelift with a fresh coat of paint.
It’s time to begin the Mini Track installation. To prepare the area for track base installation, Eric show how he used a jig mark where the base will go. Then, he marked for the pilot holes, starting two inches from each edge and then evenly spaced every 8 to 10 inches.
After marking for all the screws, he drills the pilot holes making sure not to drill too deep. Once the holes are drilled, he adds the screws and checks for depth using a small piece of the track. Once all screws are in, he begins cutting the track using a chop saw.
He leaves us in a cliffhanger while cutting the track. Let’s hope he still has all his fingers! Stay tuned for Part 2 where Eric encounters some obstacles and shows what he did to overcome them.
