GEORGETOWN, S.C., November 2, 2004 — While the devastation has been extreme during the 2004 hurricane season, some residents in Florida are now more convinced than ever that the Screen Tight Porch Screening System is everything that the company promised. Laura Lee Hill of Saint Cloud, Florida, Jim Avery of Destin, Florida and Peter DeSimas of Jupiter, Flordia took the time to write Screen Tight and tell their stories.
After Hurricane Charlie, Laura Lee Hill offers the following:
I purchased a screen tight system for my front porch several years ago because we were tired of replacing screens every time a big storm blew in across the lake. We just now are beginning to recover from a direct hit by Hurricane Charley. No electricity, phones of any kind, water, etc. We lost part of our roofing, probably about 50 trees & much other damage. It even pulled the hurricane shutters, lead anchors & all from the sliding glass doors on the porch. But our 9 porch screens (68" by 72") all came through intact but one, and that was just because a tree came through the screen. Even then, it was the screening that failed. Thought you would like to know that your product held up to 100+ mile an hour winds.
Thank you.
Laura Lee Hill
After Hurricane Ivan, Jim Avery writes:
Just a note to tell you about our Screen Tight porch and Hurricane Ivan. Had 3 feet of water on the porch. All fences, trees blown down. Cars submerged. We live on a bayou and all the wind and debris with small wave action were pressing on the screen tight. Not one panel came loose. Roof needs replacing but screen tight is ok. Will change it out due to the water stain but could stay up. Great product.
Thanks again,
Jim Avery
After Hurricane Frances and Jeanne, Peter DeSimas writes:
About 6 months ago, I screened in my 12’ x 54’ porch using Screen Tight. The eye of Frances and Jeanne passed directly over our house with wind guests in excess of 120 miles per hour. Although our gutters were torn off, and the porch doors ripped from their hinges….not one section of Screen Tight came out! NOT ONE! Even with trees uprooted and even snapped off like toothpicks, Screen Tight tracks held firm. Thank you so much for making such a quality product.
Sincerely,
Peter DeSimas
To make matters worse, Laura was kind enough to write back after her second experience when Hurricane Francis ripped through Florida:
Dear Screen Tight,
We are out the other side. Those wonderful guys from Georgia got our power back on yesterday evening. AC & hot showers! Essentially we were only out for 3 days. Yea generator! And yes, the screens are all still right there - a little loose, but enough to let the cats out on the porch thus getting the litter box out of the house. Yea again!
Laura

While our thoughts and prayers are with all those impacted by these storms, we are pleased that they found pleasure in our products.”
